I was so nervous buying dresses from so far away but the dresses here in the UK are all made in China and shipped to bridal shops anyway so I decided to cut out the middle man. I am more than glad I did.
Firstly, the fact that you can have dresses made to measure with no more charge- means a saving of at least ￡40-￡60 per dress if it had to be altered here in the UK. I had all 3 of my adult bridesmaids dresses made and they are a beautiful fit. Just the quality you would get in any bridal shop. Supported bust and lining. My size 14 and 18 bridesmaids are both very happy with the fit.
I had to change my 3rd bridesmaid and so had to take the 3rd dress to be altered for the new bridesmaid. The bridal shop alteration has only cost me ￡40 as the dress has been made in such a way that it was a simple job to do. The alteration lady even commented on the quality of the dress.
If you are worried about the measurements just stick to the website's measurement advice. My bridesmaids are wearing kitten heeled shoes but I think if they were going to wear high heels they would have needed a little extra length.
I ordered Burgundy all 3 in completely different sizes and they are absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy with them. I received them with fully trackable DHL courier in very good time. I emailed customer service so many times to check on them and they were always polite, helpful and quick to reply. I wish UK companies were so good in customer service in all honesty! I ordered this dress for my senior high school formal.
I was very concerned that it would not look like the picture, or would be of inferior quality and perhaps not even arrive!
I was absolutely thrilled when just two weeks later, my dress arrived, fitted perfectly and was made beautifully with great attention to detail.
I enjoyed a wonderful night in a dress that everyone commented on, and the best part was that the dress looked like a million dollars.
I can't wait to save up more money to shop again.

The dress was for a very special black tie ball that I organized in aid of breast cancer research.
It was perfect and I received lots of compliments and my photo was in lots of papers. It was so easy to order and delivered to Ireland in plenty of time. This is a really well made dress. It looks great in person and fits everywhere perfectly! I ordered a size 8, knowing the measurements were perfect in the waist and hips. I'm 5'6'' and it's about 2 inches too long bare foot, so a cute pair of heels will fix that, no sweat. The delivery took 2 weeks to my front door, super fast!(Posted on 2012-06-03)
